Oregon Effort to Improve Health of Future Generations

Evidence that HB2020 would not have caused Oregonians to pay more for gasoline and national gas: 
In California is the only state to enact Cap and Trade,  back in 2013, which met the statewide carbon emission reduction 4 years early and was renewed in 2018. The cost of gasoline and diesel fuel in California has been lower every year since 2013 and has fluctuated as the same rate as all adjoining states and the rest of the country where no such legislation exists (Figure 1A and 1B). The cost of natural gas to residential homes increased slightly over the  6 years since the legislation but not for commercial or industrial use and not compared to adjoining states and the rest of the country (Figure 2).
