CHC Named in Top 50 List of Hospital Systems

A study released by Thomson Reuters on Aug. 10 ranked Cascade Healthcare Community in the top 50 hospital systems in the nation. Cascade Healthcare Community owns St. Charles in Bend and Redmond.
Thomson Reuters, an information company, studied clinical quality and efficiency at every hospital system in the nation with two or more acute-care hospitals, using publicly available data and statistical analysis, according to the study.
The study, which is Thomson Reuters’ first “100 Top Hospitals: Health System Quality/Efficiency Benchmarks study,” identified the top 10, top 50 and top 100 hospital systems, but did not rank them more specifically. The hospital systems were identified from a pool of 252.
To measure quality and efficiency, researchers looked at five areas: mortality, medical complications, patient safety, average length of stay and adherence to clinical standards of care, according to a news release from Cascade Healthcare Community. | |
