The increasing incidence of colorectal cancer in adolescents and young adults (AYAs) has been progressively reported. A significant proportion of the increase was due to appendix neoplasm reclassification rather than actual trends. The increasing appendectomy rate vis a vis robotic surgery and other technical improvements has also made this trend more problematic.
